National 2011 Sing! Competition

Karla has garnered top votes and will be moving to Round Two in the National 2011 SING! contest! She will be perfoming 3 songs and will need YOU to be there to cheer and to send in your text vote! Thank you all who voted online for her to help her to the next round!

The Elms

The 5th Annual Missouri Wine Festival will take place on July 16th on the back lawn of the Elms Resort and Spa. This event showcases Missouri wine from all over the state. Previous wineries have included 7 C's, Baltimore Bend, Fence Stile, Indian Creek, St. James, Seven Springs, Stone Hill, Van Till Farms, Wenwood Farms, Pirtle and Jowler Creek.

The event also includes art, crafts, music and food demonstrations. Karla Bauer and Ron Richards will be performing from 5:45 to 6:45 on July 16th!

Tickets will be available at www.VisitESprings.com or at the Hall of Waters Visitor Center. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. This event is coordinated by the Downtown Excelsior Partnership with the mission of promoting downtown Excelsior Springs.

Karla Bauer sings the National Anthem for Pathway to Hope Night at the Movies Event

Karla Bauer will open Night at the Movies, a special event scheduled for November 16, 2010.  Pathway To Hope, event sponsor, has selected Karla to sing the National Anthem because “we believe the gift of her phenomenal voice coincides with our gift of helping the mentally ill in our community find new hope and renewal,” says Ron Shrum, Board Chair of Pathway To Hope. “Her newest CD, Hope is Alive speaks for Pathway To Hope, as well.”

Pathway To Hope, with its home offices in Olathe, KS, helps residents across the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area. Group sessions for the mentally ill and for their families have helped hundreds of individuals transform their lives. Additionally, Pathway To Hope teaches classes to empower individuals to cope with mental illness and help erase the stigma which, too often, follows those with the illness.

Paul Morrison, former District Attorney for Johnson County, KS, and Attorney General for the State of Kansas, will be the keynote speaker. Olivia Dorsey, community affairs director at KMBC-TV, will be the emcee. Tickets for the event are still available can be secured at www.PathwayToHope.org or by calling 913-397-8552.

10:00 AM - 10:45 AM: The Third Annual Christian Family Day, which will reconvene on the Ali Kemp Memorial Stage in the downtown Heritage District of Smithville, MO on Saturday, July 25.

This family-oriented, one-day Christian music and street festival is FREE to the public. Last year’s event was well attended with over 1,000 participants.

This year’s event will again feature a full-day of Christian music with some of the area’s finest Christian musicians as well as some national and regional artists. The headliner act will be Jimmie Bratcher. Several local Christian groups of various musical styles will perform as well.
